Maybe it is because my mother imprinted it upon my brother and myself to read a lot. Perhaps it is because I truly love the smell and feel of books, or the release you get from writing out what you have been keeping inside. For example: in the previous sentence, I wrote, ââ¬Å"â⬠¦his or herâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ , but originally I had written, â⠬Å"â⬠¦theirâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ ; that was incorrect. At first, I thought revision was just fixing commas, grammar and spelling, but no, fixing minor errors like grammar, spelling and punctuation are called, proofreading. Proofreading is an important step before turning in a paper, but if the ideas are predictable, the thesis is weak, and the organization of the paper is a mess, then proofreading will just act like a band aid to cover the little scars on the paper.
